ALL WOMEN ACTION SOCIETY (AWAM)
-memberi perkhidmatan kaunseling dan maklumat undang-undang.

AWAM is established during the national campaign on Violence Against Women (VAW), initiated by five women's organisations in Kuala Lumpur in 1985. In the initial years AWAM concentrated on activities related to VAW campaign. Since 1988 it has broadened its activities, aimed to improve the social position of women in Malaysia. Besides activities on VAW, other activities undertaken by AWAM include women and health, training, community services, the publication of a newsletter and resource development. AWAM has developed into a leading advocate for women's rights in Malaysia. Based on the efforts of its members and in collaboration with other women's activist groups, AWAM has built up a good record in promoting gender-sensitive policies and legislations. Together with other NGOs, (Tenaganita, Ikhlas) AWAM runs legal clinics at the Legal Aid Centre of the Bar Council. Increasingly AWAM gains respect and support, not only from the public, but also from certain government services. For example the one-stop-centres initiated by AWAM, where battered women can seek medical treatment and financial and psychological support) have been taken over by the hospitals. AWAM's resource programme, which comprises the running of an information centre/library and publishing of newsletters, books and booklets, is an ongoing effort. Coalition building and networking have resulted in the formation of the National Coalition of Women's Organisations.
